We are in the stillness of winter. A silence that wraps the land in sparkles of frozen reprieve. I long to sit with my ancestors by a fire. Feeling held by the holiness of their ancient stories. The warmth of the flames caressing our skin. The taste of sacred tobacco on our tongues.
The trees whisper their naked wisdom. I’m in awe of their ease of surrender. I ache to mirror their trust. As my body begins to soften. Her hum syncing with the beats of my heart. Sending gentle ripples through my bones. It is time. It is time.

The noise of machinery disrupts my inner journey. A familiar noise that I resist. My heart feels an unequivocal break. As I gaze out my back porch window. Where my soul is greeted by the mountain and trees. And we dance each morning together in harmony.
My body breathes a shallow breath. The bulldozer is back… again. Tearing up layers of hallowed ground. Disrupting precious Gaian beings. Many can be seen by the human eye. Many more cannot. I feel a rumble in my belly. Erupting like a blazing volcano of sizzling rock.

I call upon my ancestors for support. This feels too big to handle alone. They remind me of my divine mission. For eons of time, earth has been obliterated. Her selfless abundance exploited. I surrender to my body as she shakes and gyrates. Carving healing symbols into the rich dark soil.
Sounds emerge from my womb. Their melody sings to my cells. In a language my mind can’t comprehend. Deep. Piercing. Spewing out embedded grunts and groans. Louder and louder. Louder and louder. Louder and louder. Then silence.

A sublime warmth fills my body. With the sweet fragrance of morning dew. I feel my ancestors’ tender presence. Like a soothing vessel of sacred nectar. Holding me in a sanctifying fire. As the essence of my spirit births new wings. I am home.
Embracing all of who I am. With a humble heart. In this moment.
